Well I think the final count goes like this: Performance Scoring Change: 7 votes yes..... 3 votes no..... 2 abstain. Field Goal Change: 9 votes yes..... 1 vote no..... 2 abstain. League Entry Fee: 6 votes $100.00, 4 votes don't care, 3 votes $200.00. So yes to the performance scoring and FG changes but I think what we should do about the league entry fee is go with the $100.00. If we want to we could get a side thing going for those who want more action. As far as the waiver thing, I'll have to check out the CBS Sportsline site to see our options. I'll also check out the chat function for Whippy.

Whiplash............ Also, on the rule changes - I'm a "no" on the performance scoring (10 yds = 1 point) change, but a "yes" on changing Fg scoring to 3 (+3 for 50+ yarder).

Grifters............ another item we need to discuss is the waivers...not everyone can sit around at 9am on a tuesday morning to pick up the best players...we need to go back to the other way or devise a better system to make it more equitable.
Grifters............ yew da' man Schrammy...I like reducing the field goal scoring as well...maybe 3 pts for 39 yards and less...4 pts for 40 to 49 yards and 5 pts for 50+...I feel the 40 and 50 yarders should get a few more points than a 20 yarder!...and I am in for either the $100 or the $200.

WhiskeyJacks............ I'm trying to set the SFL record for posts in one day..... Another rule change I wanted to toss around was a kicking penalty. I hate the 50 yard 10 point thing (wanna talk about equal points to a 100 yard rushing day). Kickers aren't real football players and they shouldn't have as much importance as they do in our league. I mean really do you want a smurf like Martin Gramatica to beat out a 100 yard rushing day from LT? (in my best Phil Hartman voice) I've got chunks of guys like him in my stool! Here are my two proposals..... 1) All field goals are 3 points with a 3 point bonus for 50 yards plus.... or 2) Keep the FG scoring the same as last year but penalize kickers minus 3 points for a miss.

SFL Commissioner............ Masticators are good for the September 3 draft day. Also, there has been some buzz about the lowered draft cash this year. I think there are more teams that want the cash back to $200.00 instead of $100 so we can keep the weekly payout. Let's pop off on that issue.

SFL Commissioner............ So here is where we stand..... Draft night Wednesday, September 3 at at Flip's 18th St. Deli. Get there around 7:00 p.m. to eat, then start drafting around 8:15 or so. The draft usually takes about two and a half hours so we should be out of there by 11:00 p.m. Draft entry fee, $100.00. Winner gets $1000.00, runner up gets $100.00. $100 in league fees (CBS Sportsline). Or..... Winner gets $500.00, runner up gets $0.00. $35.00 weekly payout. $105.00 league fees.

Rule changes vote Friday, September 1, 12:00 noon. Post your choice on the blather page. So far the only rule posted is the performance scoring adjustment. Also vote on the money payout preference.
SFL Commissioner............ Shepka a 100 yards last year was 10 points, there was no +3 bonus at 100 yards (just the 10 points).
Landsharks............ Oh Yeah, your right Commish, still that 7 point difference used to be a 13 point difference, almost cut in half.
SFL Commissioner............ Actually that's why there is a 3 points bonus at 100 yards. So 60 yards would be 6 points and 100 yards would be 13.

Landsharks............ Don't like the proposed changes - but I've said that all along. Just don't think that a 60 yard day should be worth only 4 pts less than a 100 yard day.... But I don't care and I will be there on draft day any way you slice it up!
Guineas............ Changes look good, anything to not have my WR & RB with 99 yards and a big fat zero for the day....
Bombers............ Commish, I like your proposal. My main concern is getting points when your running back, for example, gets 80 yards. I believe in that instance that back would get 8 pts in your new proposal. In that case I'm all over it.
Grifters............ I like most of the changes...although with the QB..I like the 10 points for 300 yards and 1 point for each additional 10 yards, so if we do 1 point for every 20 yards up to 300 yards, and then 1 point for every 10 yards after the 300 yard mark--I like better because it kind of keeps it the same as previously except it gives points to the qb under the 250 yard mark. I'm okay with all of the other changes, but I do have a question about the bonus...if a rb or wr hits the 150 or 200 yard mark is the bonus increased or does the player still only get the 3 points for the 100 yard "good day" mark??...if a player gets 200 yards that would be a "great day" and might be worthy of a 6point bonus (or double the good day bonus). Not many players reach that yard total, but it is something to keep in mind especially if you draft Adrain Peterson!

SFL Commissioner............ Let's talk new rule changes..... for performance point scoring, I think we all agree we need to offer up some results before 100 yards. For running backs and receivers a 100 yards is considered a "good" day, for quarterbacks it's 300 yards and for tight ends 50 yards. So with that in mind as equal benchmarks for the positions, here is an option. Quarterbacks - Performance starts at 100 yards, then 1 point for every 20 yards. Example, 300 yards passing equals 10 points. Running Backs and Receivers - Performance starts at 0 yards, then 1 point for every 10 yards. Example, 100 yards rushing or receiving equals 10 points. Tight Ends - Performance starts at 0 yards, then 1 point for every 10 yards. Example, 50 yards receiving equals 5 points or 100 yards equals 10 points. For the final piece to this, when each position reaches the "good day" mark (100, 300 or 50 yards) they get a 3 point bonus. This way there is a reward for the benchmark being reached and the point totals remain close to the same as they are now. All positions would use the scoring method above when they achieve performance yards the opposite way (but with no "good day" bonus) , example, a running back getting receiving yards.

The draft this year is going to have to start a little late since Marcaccio's Deli can't close until 8:00 p.m. We can meet at 7:00 to get settled in and eat, then start drafting around 8:15. Our drafts have been going about 2 1/2 hours so that puts us out of there by 11:00ish. Also talking to Tom Al he mentioned Bob Schram would like to join so he could be the 11th team. We still need one more so suggest away.

It's on the Westside at the Meijer Headquater. They have a little three camera studio and it's mostly producing corporate videos, light editing and project management. It's a staff position with benefits. I know it's on the the other side of the state but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Syndicate............ It's not too late for the Flapdragons to come out of retirement like St. Fav-ra........regarding the rules tweak, I really like the idea of 1pt for every 10yards on RB and WR and the 5 for 200 yards on QB's.

Yes I think we should change the scoring to 1 point for every 10 yards except for QB's where I think we should start at 1 point at 200 yards....that said--I like the idea of a 10 team league which would give us a little extra talent per team, but I would not mind a 12 team league either....so I guess it depends on whether we can field 10 or 12 teams. I talked with Fitzy a while ago and he said that he was probably going to drop out as well...so we may have to bring in a new team. I also remember Jim groh saying that he may be interested in re-joining so I guess the ball is in the Commish's lap on how to proceed!!!.....other than that I am sick and tired of anything pertaining to Brett Fav-rah...can he just go away like the Flapdragons have done!!!!!!!

Work flow is still o-k (for now)... and the household budget is still o-k (for now), but we're in lockdown mode on all unnescessary costs for the past several months. And as much as I love the SFL it is a discretionary spend. I'll keep dropping in, so keep me on the chat page!
