WhiskeyJacks............
31 and 82..... 3 years left on his contract.
The Wall Street Journal..... NFL executives admit in private that Millen "has made more bad draft decisions than anyone else in two centuries."
He's the second highest paid general manager in the NFL.

Grifters............
Flapper for someone who doesn't have the time to be part of the league..you sure pop off a lot!!!....the Lions have to be the worst franchis ein all of sports...the Lions of the 60's and early 70's had a good team that was very competitive (with a good football coach--but a lousy general manager)...since Joe Schmidt left they have been a joke...but they really haven't had a good coach, but at least their general manager still sucks!!!!!

Have to agree with the Despo giving props to H12, but can someone buy the gal in the middle a Lady Schick? If you're putting it on display, trim the lawn!

And from the "Kick 'em While They're Down" department, over the past eight seasons Green Bay is 14-2 against the Lions.

Flapdragons............
Suddenly, doesn't it seem like Ted Thompson and McCarthy knew what they were doing when they relied on Rodgers? Waaaaay early yet, but the guy is smarter with the football than Favre ever hoped to be, for at least the first two games. Now he only has 260 more, or so, to go? Could be the surprise player of the year... and he fell to 26th in the draft a few years ago? It also seems like Green Bay plugs in anyone and they perform. Another indictment of Millen and his roster. Don't mean to pile on...

Flapdragons............
I was wondering if anyone played Green Bay's defense. Tough one to take for the Lions, no doubt. I'm not sure what it is with that team. Cursed seems about the best word... although incompetent seems to fit Millen too.

Desperados............

Like Bobby Ross before me, the Lions have finally broken my spirit. Kitna has to go. Marinelli has to go. Millen has to go. Ford has to go.
Go USA! Win the Ryder cup!

Great Whippy starts a RB that's not even playing this week, no problem just play Green Bay defense against the Lions. 32 points..... Brutal.
Detroit is unquestionably the worst NFL franchise ever. Atlanta or Cincinnati? Been to a Superbowl..... New Orleans, Cleveland or Arizona? Teams are on the upswing..... Expansion teams? All better off. The worst.

Looking like the MAC-10. The Lions suck on the West coast as well. It must be the climate change or something.
Are the Snoits going to get beat by Aaron Rodgers? If they lose today it's over.

I'd like to know what the Big Tens record is for say the last 25-30 years when they send one of their teams to the state of California or even just the West Coast in general. Thank God for Wisconsin holding on to beat Fresno St. The B10 in general has great schools with lot's of tradition but it has been a second tier football conference for a long time. They pale in comparison to the SEC and Big 12 and have nothing over the ACC, Big East or Appalachian state.

Bombers............
I guess we'll belly ache no matter what system you implement! I bet waiver ranking will make more sense once we get a few weeks under our belt, it's just the first week that looks a little weird from here. Bombers don't care between worst-first or waiver ranking.

Grifters............
I say smack down the Smackdown!!!!

SFL Commissioner............
I can make it go worst to first instead of waiver ranking when picking but there aren't many options to change. Most leagues use waiver transaction ranking but we can do worst to first. We could start that next week when waivers run again.
However, I can't have waivers run one day and then be open to free picking, it doesn't allow that.
We can also go back to the old free for all way but there were teams belly-aching about as well.
Blather submitted at 10:28 AM on Friday, September 12, 2008
Smackdown............
Here's an idea for the waiver system...If two or more teams want a player, then the team with the worst record gets him, if they have the same record, then it's first come first serve. It's simple and to the point. The only problem with any waiver system, really, is the first week where half the league is 0-1 (not me, of course), after that, though, the waiver system usually balances out.
Go Smackdown!
Blather submitted at 09:39 AM on Friday, September 12, 2008
Bombers............
I'm guessing Flip's objection to the waiver system is that he lost his first game yet is lower on the waiver list than some teams that won their first game. Is that really the way that list should be ordered? Doesn't your record have anything to do with it?

Landsharks............
I like the waiver system but as a suggestion, maybe the waiver system could run tuesday night and then open the wire up as a free for all on wednesday morning. Also could you possibly make it so that the waiver order goes worst to first? That might help out struggling teams and keep them interested a little more.
Blather submitted at 08:32 AM on Friday, September 12, 2008
WhiskeyJacks............
So do we not like the waiver system? Flip, we know where you stand.

Flip, I think the system is set up based on how many waivers you performed over the years, the most transactions at the bottom of the list. The only question is, how are you not 12th?! ;-)

Commish, please explain the new wavier system again. Went to CBS, I have lowest starting pts, 0-1 record, no waviers yet, and I'm ranked 9th on the priority list???????
